Message Earlier this summer I flew into Sac and drove my first Z back to CO :) As mentioned above, check all the vitals before you hit the road. Tire pressure (and condition), oil and coolant levels, condition of the spare, verify that the jack is still in the car, etc. I assumed the airline would give me a hard time if I tried to get on the plane with a toolbox, so after picking up the car I headed for the local auto parts store and picked up a few things just in case I encountered any problems along the way. Shop towels, small toolkit (which I'll leave in the car anyway) with primarily metric components ;) , washer fluid (fluid was low when I picked up the car), antifreeze (jug of water from the qwik-i-mart), etc. Anything else you can think of that would make you feel more comfortable while cruising 1000 miles in a car you are unfamiliar with. XM radio if ya got it, that Nevada desert could get pretty boring without it :D

Also check to see if the owner's manual is in the car, and if not then ask for it. I have no idea what so many owners do with that thing but it seems most used cars are missing the manual

Enjoy the trip and your new Z! Hopefully your cruise control works, mine didn't =P
